Jurgen Klopp has aimed a dig at their Premier League rivals, Manchester United after Liverpool were named Team of the Year at the Sports Personality of the Year Awards.
The award was held in the city of Manchester due to coronavirus restrictions and Klopp was quick to throw a jab at the Red Devils.
The German gaffer was quoted by The Sun:
“Getting this prize in Manchester by the way makes it even sweeter!”
He had initially said:
“My team deserves it, they did an incredible job. It’s a mix of talent, character, desire and the power of the club which is really a big one.

“That all comes together and we become champions. It was a great moment to be honest.
“[Celebrating with fans?] We can wait for them! We do what we can do to bridge the time until they are back again.
“We said it before - we want to organise a big, big party in the moment that it is allowed again.
“But if not, the one thing we won last year we will celebrate for sure. We can’t wait to see you again.”
Klopp also added another feather in his cap by winning Manager of the Year.
“My backroom staff is obviously the main reason why all the things work.
“I accept it and take it home to Liverpool. Thank you very much.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Jurgen Klopp has cleared the air regarding Sadio Mane's angry gestures when he was being substituted for Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool had gone 4-0 against Crystal Palace and Mane was subbed off for Salah just before the hour mark.
Reds boss Klopp seemed to have taken off the Senegalese striker to save him for some big fixtures ahead but the 28-year-old showed disapproval to the tactical change.
Legit.ng also reported that Liverpool continued their impressive form in the Premier League as they comfortably defeated Crystal Palace by 7-0 away at Selhurst Park.
Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah scored a brace each as Takumi Minamino, Sadio Mane, and Jordan Henderson were also on the scoresheet.
The Reds started the game brightly and as early as the third minute, they went ahead through Minamino who applied an instinctive finish from a Mane's assist.
Legit.ng also reported that Jurgen Klopp scooped the Best Men's coach for the second time at the FIFA TheBest awards held in Zurich, Switzerland.
The Liverpool boss beat Leeds United's Marcelo Bielsa and Bayern Munich's Hans-Dieter Flick to win the award for the second year running.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss helped the Reds land the first Premier League title in 30 years during the 2019-20 season in his fourth spell at Anfield.
