Dakadda tower, Nigeria's most IT complaint building, says Obasanjo

Akwa Ibom's 21 high rise smart building, popularly known as the Dakkada Tower in Uyo, has been declared as Nigeria's most technologically advanced and IT compliant building in the country.

The description was given by former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo after he inspected the facility on Saturday, December 19.

A statement from the Akwa Ibom state government seen by Legit.ng noted that Governor Udom Emmanuel and senior cabinet officials accompanied the former president on the inspection.

According to the statement, Chief Obasanjo was shown around the building by Governor Emmanuel in company of the technical crew handling the Dakkada Tower project.

Obasanjo also noted the ease of maintenance effected in the building, stressing that the sophisticated facilities would attract business and development to the state.

Legit.ng findings revealed that the 21 storey building structure is the tallest in the Niger Delta region.

The project which is currently at 95% completion is expected to be commissioned anytime soon.

Since his emergence as the Akwa state chief executive, Governor Emmanuel has invested enormous energy, business contacts, and resources in industrializing the state.

Recently, the governor fulfilled a key part of his campaign promise to ensure the completion of the Ibom Deep Seaport project before the end of his administration.

Last week, the Akwa Ibom state government secured the final approval for the project by the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, December 16.

Meanwhile, Governor Emmanuel recently gave directives for the immediate employment of 1000 teachers to shore up the manpower in secondary schools in Akwa Ibom state.

According to a press statement issued by the Akwa Ibom state government and seen by Legit.ng on Thursday, November 26, the governor also ordered the release of the 2019 teachers' promotion interview results.
