Kankara boys: Nigerian professionals in Europe hail Buhari, security agencies

- Members of Association of Nigerian Professionals in Europe have commended President Muhammadu Buhari's political will

- The ANPE commended the president on the release of the Kankara schoolboys from their abductors

- The group said the president has shown his interest in issues of Nigeria's security

The Association of Nigerian Professionals in Europe (ANPE) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari and personnel of all security agencies in the country over the release of the students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in Katsina state.

ANPE said the president alongside the security agencies' leadership and other personnel made the release of the boys possible.

In a communique signed by its president Agwu Onyeke, and seen by Legit.ng, ANPE said the boys' return is the highlight of President Buhari's political will to surmount security challenges faced by Nigeria.

Onyeke said:

"Nigeria is experiencing challenges in various sectors of the country, and it has been alleged that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has displayed a lackadaisical attitude towards addressing the issues."

Hailing the success of Operation Sahel Sanity in the country, Onyeke called on the federal government to develop a strategy that would be used to counter the falsehood spread by disgruntled politicians.

He said most of the politicians in the country are bent on truncating the nascent democracy in Nigeria. 

He also said that the government of the day must commence a process of engaging citizens on the need to be committed to nation-building

Onyeke said:

"The media must rise to the occasion through the enforcement of objectivity in the reportage of events in the country."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had said that the kidnap of the students Kankara school in Katsina state by their abductors was a deliberate act to embarrass the federal government.

The president said that there is a conspiracy against his government by some unknown individuals in the country.

The government of the United States of America has called on her Nigerian counterpart to hold those responsible for the kidnap of the Kankara schoolboys accountable.

The US government in a critical message to the federal government said the abduction of the boys is condemnable.

In a tweet, the US government also condoled with the families affected by the recent kidnap of the Kankara schoolboys.
