Arsenal chiefs have been urged by former captain William Gallas to sack current manager Mikel Arteta claiming that the Spaniard is not capable of handling the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta replaced Unai Emery as Arsenal gaffer last season and was impressive helping the Gunners to win the English FA Cup although they failed to finish among the top four.

The Gunners have not been finding it rosy this season in the Premier League and fans have been complaining about the poor performances of the club.

William Gallas who was with Arsenal for four years playing over 100 games explained according to the report on UK Sun that he was surprised when Gunners chiefs appointed Mikel Arteta.

The Frenchman added that Mikel Arteta's lack of experience is what is affecting the Gunners this term in the Premier League.

"I think maybe the issue at the moment is that Mikel Arteta is not the right manager.
"For me he doesn't have that experience to manage a big club. I was surprised when he came in, to be honest - even as Pep Guardiola's assistant - you need experience as a manager to come in to a club like Arsenal.
"When they chose Mikel Arteta to come in and replace Unai Emery, in my mind Patrick Vieira was the name I thought they should have gone for.
