2023: Sule Lamido says PDP can solve Nigeria’s problems

A former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido said the many challenges facing Nigeria will be solved by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if the party is voted by Nigerians in the 2023 general elections.

According to This Day, Lamido made the statement at a political event in Birnin Kudu, Jigawa state.

He said the five years of the current administration has thrown the country into hunger, insecurity among other problems.

Lamido said:

“Nigeria is at a crossroad, people are wailing all over the country, the insecurity, the poverty, the culture of hatred, there is lack of love in Nigeria we need a party like PDP which is rooted in people’s heart which is not owned by the people not by any individual, the party understands Nigeria."

The politician accused the ruling party of using lies to ride to power. He claimed there is a clear distinction between the former PDP federal government and the current one.

Meanwhile, a prominent northern senator, Sani Yerima, has declared his interest to run for presidency come 2023 general elections.

Yerima is one politician who became famous for adopting and promoting Sharia law while he served as the governor of Zamfara state.

However, during an interview with The Sun, Yerima denied claims that he will implement the same religious agenda if elected president.

In other news, a former vice president Atiku Abubakar has kick-started his support groups in all states of Nigeria.

The campaign body named Atiku Support Group was inaugurated in Abuja on Thursday, December 17, under the chairmanship of its director-general, Atiku Aminu Mohammed, The Nation reported.

According to the North-Central coordinator of the group, Anngu Orngu, the campaign organisation has as its major interest the welfare of Nigerians, especially the youths, an objective enshrined in the former vice president's national development agenda.
