- Trent Alexander-Arnold has seen a different side of Jose Mourinho's comments
- Liverpool defeated Tottenham in a crunch Premier League game played at Anfield
- Mourinho told his opposite number, Jurgen Klopp, that Spurs were the better team
Trent Alexander-Arnold has hit back at Jose Mourinho comments claiming Tottenham were the better side during the top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
The Special One walked up to Jurgen Klopp after the whistle and told him that the better side lost the Premier League clash at Anfield.
The Reds went up in the first half from a Mohamed Salah's deflected shot but Spurs came back minutes later as Heung-Min Son scored from a counter-attack.
Roberto Frimino sealed the win late in the game from a powerful header and put the defending Champions three points clear at the top of the log.
And Alexander-Arnold has been quick to respond to Mourinho claims as he posted on social media.
The 22-year-old said:
"Best team won."
And a couple of Alexander-Arnold's teammates also commented in support of the Englishman on the Instagram post.
Klopp also disagreed with Mourinho's opinion as he believed his side did enough to earn the priceless three points at the three minutes of the game.
The German boss said:
"We deserved to win the math with the way we played.
"They are a top side - a counterattacking monster - so you have to be really focused, and because they don't want the ball too much you have to play around them and keep them busy.
"We did that really, really well. What a wonderful goal to win it, a nice corner [from Andy Robertson] and a sensational header from Bobby.
"It was not heated at all. I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. So that's it."
