The Nigerian military has promised to ensure the safe return of the children abducted from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina state.
The coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major-General John Enenche gave the assurance on Wednesday, December 16 at a press briefing attended by a Legit.ng reporter in Abuja at the Defence Headquarters.
Enenche said that the military had taken all the necessary brief from the operating agencies and the government of Katsina state on the condition of the abducted students, adding that the Nigerian Armed Forces do not negotiate with criminal elements.

He noted that everyone has a role to play in the safe return of the children, including their parents, community members, and the Katsina state government.
Meanwhile, an Islamic cleric, Sheihk Abdullahi Isah, on Wednesday, December 16, said that most of the insecurity in Nigeria have a political undertone.
A statement released by the Sheihk after a media parley with journalists and seen by Legit.ng noted that President Muhammadu Buhari has made a tremendous effort in addressing the myriads of challenges bedevilling the nation.
The cleric also said there is a grand campaign by some politicians across the country to undermine the administration of Buhari.
Similarly, the national chairman of Ulama’u Council of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Waikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has declared that President Buhari has performed better than his predecessors despite the mounting insecurity in the country.
The cleric made the comment this past weekend during the JIBWIS 24th National Qur’an Recitation Competition in Gombe state.
Sheikh Jingir, however, called on the president to re-strategise and fight criminality wholeheartedly.
