It is indeed a trying time for the family members of Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye aka Mr P, and his wife, Lola, who has just lost her darling father during the early hours of Wednesday, December 16.
The singer’s wife shared the sad news with fans in a post on her official Instagram page. Lola posted a photo of her late dad and accompanied it with a touching tribute.
Lola in the opening paragraph of her tribute said the news brought her family’s world to a “grinding halt".
She added that his death has hit the family members hard even though they know he has gone to a better place.
"My darling Papa's passing has hit us all very hard, and while we know that he is in a better place, the truth is that there is no easy way to handle the grief that comes with the loss of a loved one."
Lola stressed the importance of continuing to cherish the memories they shared when he was alive while noting that the deceased was a wonderful, kind and generous person.
"However, what we can do, is be comforted in the memories he has blessed us with, keeping our hearts set on the wonderful person that Papa was; the wonderful, kind and generous person he will always be to us and to the many lives he touched with his time here on earth."
