Paul Scholes has claimed that Chelsea are still one-season away from winning the prestigious Premier League title, Daily Mail.

The Blues suffered their second consecutive league defeat of the season following their 2-1 loss to Wolves at the Molineux.

A late goal from Pedro Neto saw Nuno Espirit Santo's side complete a remarkable comeback after going behind to an Olivier Giroud's goal.

Despite the improvements in Chelsea's squad this season, Scholes believes their players are inexperienced in winning the title this season.

The Man United legend pointed out the likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz who still need to improve as the team lacks creativity.

However, Scholes believes Liverpool and Manchester City will still be out of Chelsea's reach.

Scholes said:

"I just think there's a little bit a lack of creativity on the pitch. (N'Golo) Kante does what he does brilliantly well and he's got two young players next to him in Mason Mount and Kai Havertz, who I think will be sensational players, but that's why I don't think they'll win the league this year. It's a bit early for them. They'll be up there, close to Manchester City and Liverpool I just don't think they are that ready.
"But in a year's time with a bit of experience, knowhow, bit more quality they'll be up there challenging."

With the defeat, Chelsea failed to go level on points with Tottenham and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table
