Lionel Messi's future at Barcelona remains uncertain despite the five-time Ballon d'Or winner having less than seven months on his current deal.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs - with Manchester City and Inter Milan leading the race for his signature next summer.

However, in spite of his exit rumours, no club has come forward to make any official offer for the Argentine who seems to have been tired of life at Camp Nou.

The four-time Champions League winner also wants to discover his ability to help the Catalans finish strong, adding that he is in no rush to make any decision.

As it stands now, Messi will be allowed to speak with any club of his choice starting from next month if he decides to leave at the end of this season.

But so many are hoping the Argentine will pen a new deal to put an end to any exit rumours in the coming months.

Meanwhile, this might not be possible until the club has elected a new president which is scheduled to hold on January 24, 2021.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Lionel Messi scored the all-important goal that powered Barcelona to a 1-0 victory over Levante at Camp Nou over the weekend.

The win propelled Ronald Koeman's men to 17 points from 11 matches as they currently occupy the eighth position on the log.
