Emmanuel Frimpong has offered to return to play Arsenal as he tells the club to sell Granit Xhaka and then sign him on a free, SunSport reports.

The 28-year-old expressed disappointment following Arsenal’s stunning 1-0 loss at home to Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday, December 13.

Arsenal were the architect of their own misfortune after Granit Xhaka was shown a red card during the game and then Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed home an own goal.

It was still 0-0 as at the 58th minute when a scuffle saw the former Arsenal captain grab Ashley Westwood by the throat before he was sent off.

And Frimpong had some words of his own for the 28-year-old.

He tweeted:

"Sell Xhaka and get me on a free."

One fan replied:

"A nice idea but you say this as if someone would be willing to pay for Xhaka."

Another said:

"Plz come back! At least he'd fight for the badge!!"

Also, a number of Arsenal fans are yet to come to terms with the home loss to Burnley and have called for the sacking of Mikel Arteta as manager of the Gunners.

It was the club’s fourth straight home-defeat in 61 years, and supporters of the club are upset with the tactician’s strategy.

Arsenal are now languishing in 15th position despite starting the season on a promising note and fans have called for Arteta to be relieved of his duties.

That incident saw him got stripped of the captaincy and his reputation diminished drastically, but Arteta is attempting to help the player rediscover himself.
