In a report by The Punch, Obaseki made the disclosure during the testimony session at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Holy Ghost Congress.
The governor speaking further revealed that during his second-term election challenges he came to see the RCCG general overseer with his wife about a year ago who assured him that all would be well.
According to Obaseki, the popular cleric told him not to be afraid, adding that he would overcome and win the gubernatorial poll after explaining his political challenges.
He went on to note that Adeboye prayed for him shortly before the election and assured him that all would be well
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Edo state governorship election petition tribunal has again upheld the re-election of Governor Obaseki in the last gubernatorial poll.
The tribunal also dismissed the petition filed by the Action Alliance (AA) which challenged the victory of Obaseki.
This verdict was passed on behalf of the tribunal by Justice Chukwudi Nwakwo after the counsel to the AA, Steven Osaigbovo, failed to appear during the hearing
In a related development, Osagie Ize-Iyamu has called out Governor Obaseki as Edo state and Nigeria, in general, continue to battle insecurity.
Ize-Iyamu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 19 election in Edo state, accused the governor of insensitivity.
He said Obaseki's silence as the state continues to witness insecurity is no longer golden.
