Their arrest was made possible by a special intelligence-led operation aimed at arresting the criminal gang on November 25.

The gang was reportedly plotting other abductions to avenge the death of their members who died during the rescue operations but they met their waterloo.

The police said they are collaborating with its Nigerien counterpart to arrest other members of the transnational syndicate at large.
