Buhari, Osinbajo, others attend APC NEC meeting in Aso Rock
- The APC is intensifying the efforts to put its house in order ahead of the next general elections in 2023

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is currently holding an emergency meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to the presidential aide on new media, Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, APC governors are attending the meeting physically.
Ahmad added that other principal members of the ruling party's NEC are attending virtually.

Prominent among the governors in attendance are Mai Mala Buni, Yobe governor and APC caretaker committee chairman, and Atiku Bagudu, governor of Kebbi who doubles as the chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF).
Legit.ng recalls that the party had in November scheduled the meeting to review its position and deliberate on its next line of action regarding its national leadership.
Ahmad also noted that the governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi, who recently joined the ruling party is in attendance.
Meanwhile, an earlier report indicates that the internal crisis rocking the ruling APC may have taken another twist over the planned extension of tenure of the party's caretaker committee led by Governor Buni.
Legit.ng gathered that the Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, may also have fallen out with senators elected on the platform of the party ahead of the NEC meeting.

In another previous report, the immediate past national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, said he has accepted his removal as the head of the ruling party.
