- The APC is still in a celebratory mood following its massive electoral victories in the just-concluded by-elections
- The country's ruling party won seven out of eleven states where legislative by-elections were conducted
- APC attributed its landslide victory to the popularity of the president with Nigerians
Following the just-concluded by-elections across Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, December 7, said that its massive victory shows that Nigerians accept the ruling party and its government.
Yekini Nabena, the APC deputy national publicity secretary made the disclosure in a statement shared on the party's website.
According to Nabena, APC's electoral victories in seven of the 11 states is a strong indication of President Muhammadu Buhari’s popularity among the people in spite of the warped narrative opposition tries to sell.

The APC recorded victory in Lagos, Imo, Kogi, Plateau, Katsina, Bauchi and Borno, while the main opposition PDP won in Bayelsa, Enugu and Cross Rivers states.
The deputy national publicity secretary went on to note that the wins recorded by the party are a pointer that the APC remains the only political party with a true national appeal and acceptance by Nigerians.
While reiterating its commitment to upholding “the majority will of the electorate,” APC acknowledged the elections were laced with irregularities but accused the PDP as the chief perpetrator.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the APC in Lagos state lambasted the PDP over the opposition party's allegation of fraud in the just-concluded by-elections.
Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, said in a statement on Sunday, December 6, that the PDP’s claim that INEC allocated votes to APC “can best be described as a comic relief from the recent pressure and challenges."
