Nigerian singer Simi shares tweet in response to Pius Angbo saga

In a recent tweet, Simi reacted to the domestic violence allegations labelled against Channels TV journalist, Pius Angbo, by his wife.

In a video earlier shared, she came out with allegations that her husband had been physically abusing her for about six years.

She alleged that her husband abused her not too long ago after she delivered a baby. Her story has caused a social media outburst and reactions to which Simi lent her voice to in a tweet.

The singer was quite vocal about the fact that she disagreed with people who insist on hearing both ends of a story in abuse cases. This notion is quite common, as observers might want to know both sides of the story, before drawing any conclusion.

The singer put into consideration the safety of the victim when she stated that the victim was possibly risking her safety by calling out her husband on the issue of domestic abuse. Simi also made mention the bothersome issue of women who suffer from physical abuse feeling unsafe in their homes.

At the end of her tweet, Simi made it known her stance against the belief of being patient in an abusive marriage and also praying for an abusive husband when she made mention of the kids and the trauma involved in such situations.

She wrote:

"Alleged human beings responding to a woman (possibly risking her life) calling out horrible physical abuse from her husband saying "I want to hear both sides of the story". What is wrong with you??? Many women are unsafe in their own homes. "Be patient. "Pray for your husband." "What of the kids?" So traumatic. Fvcking animals."

The issue of domestic abuse in Nigeria has become quite rampant over the years, and a good number of celebrities have spoken up against it, including Simi in her recent tweet.

The domestic abuse allegations surrounding Pius Angbo is one among the numerous abuse cases in Nigeria.
