Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels proud of Scott McTominay after refusing to go down when Neymar appeared to have grabbed his 'private part'.

The Red Devils suffered their second defeat after following their 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint Germain in their Group H encounter at Old Trafford.

Two goals from the former Barcelona winger and one from Marquinhos ensured Marcus Rashford's first-half strike ended up a mere consolation.

Solskjaer, reacting to the action where Neymar was spotted sitting on the pitch while contending with McTominay, said he wants his players to continue to be honest.

Tempers flared after the Scottish was said to have stepped on the Brazilian's ankle during a contention for the ball as Neymar chased the forward to confront him. Solskjaer said:

"I don’t want to comment on opposition players My players know my values. I want honest players. Scotty could have gone down when Neymar grabs his gentle parts but I don’t want them to do that."

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old did not hold back as he ripped into the PSG squad after the match, saying:

"The reaction of their players is [shakes head]. I've got nothing to say about that, you get in trouble if you start speaking about that and the referee.
"I said at half-time if we don't get anything from this game then we should be coming in disappointed and angry with each other.
"It's a tough pill to swallow when you see how the game pans out, it was a sloppy goal to conceded then the way we played after that was brilliant, the way we approached the game was total focus.

United will hope they can pick at least a point in their last game to advance to the next stage of the championship.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that Marcus Rashford will be ready for his side's Premier League clash against West Ham United this weekend.

The 23-year-old was removed in the 74th minute of the Red Devils 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint Germain in their Champions League fixture on Wednesday, December 2.

His 32nd-minute goal cancelled out Neymar's early minute strike but it could not stop them from losing the game.
