Suspected killers of Ondo state monarch arrested

In a swift reaction to the barbaric killing of a first-class monarch in Ondo state, Ondo Security Network Agency, the Amotekun Corps with the support of other security operatives, have arrested suspected killers of the Olufon of Ifon, Oba Isreal Adeusi.

This was disclosed at a media briefing on Wednesday, December 2, by the commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, Channels TV reports.

He said the team combed the surrounding forest in search of the killers. Going further, he disclosed that four persons kidnapped were rescued during the search operation.

According to him, the suspects are in custody and facing interrogation.

Recall that Legit.ng reported that as many Nigerians continue to lament the killing of Oba Isreal Adeusi, traditional rulers in Ondo declared that touching a monarch is wrong and murdering such person is a taboo in Yoruba land.

The monarchs who lamented the murder of their colleague said every normal person must condemn the evil.

According to the chairman of Ondo state Council of Obas, His Majesty, Oba Dr. Frederick Akinruntan, it is an unfortunate development.

Legit.ng had reported about the murder of the Olufon of Ifon in Ose local government area Ondo state. He was killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

Barely 24 hours after the traditional monarch was murdered, suspected kidnappers abducted wife of the chief of staff to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Olugbenga Alex.

The government official's wife was kidnapped by the gunmen on Thursday, November 26, at Owena area of the state.

However, she was confirmed released on Saturday, November 28 by a government official. The traumatized woman was said to have been admitted to a hospital where she is receiving treatment.
