Premier League giants Chelsea on Wednesday night, December 2, continued with their impressive performance in the Champions League beating host Sevilla 4-0 in Spain.
Chelsea had already qualified for the Champions League knockout stages before this encounter, but Frank Lampard and his wards proved their superiority over Sevilla again.
Kai Havertz almost gave the Blues the opener in the third minutes after benefiting from an assist by Hudson-Odoi, but he was unable to score.
Olivier Giroud eventually scored the first goal for Chelsea in the 8th minute after receiving a nice pass from Kai Havertz.
Sergi Gomez had the chance to restore parity for Sevilla five minutes after conceding against Chelsea, but goalkeeper Mendy produced a brilliant save.
The first half ended with Chelsea taking a 1-0 lead to the dressing room against Sevilla.
Sevilla tried all they could to level up in the second half, but they were unable to beat goalkeeper Mendy who was superb.
Mateo Kovacic provided an excellent assist for Olivier Giroud to score the second goal for Chelsea in the 54th minute before Kante assisted the Frenchman to net his hat-trick in the 74th minute.
Sergi Gomez pushed Giroud in the box in the 83rd minute in which the referee gave Chelsea a penalty and was scored by the Frenchman.
The duel ended 4-0 in favor of Chelsea and the Blue are still topping Group E with 13 points after five games.
