A former Senate president, Bukola Saraki has given an indication of the strategy the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would adopt in its effort to win the 2023 general election.

Saraki said the PDP would strive to attract youths, businessmen, job creators among other stakeholders to the party.

He made the disclosure on Wednesday, December 2, at the inauguration of the PDP national reconciliation and strategic committee which he chairs, Vanguard reported.

Saraki said:

"We will go all out to reach our members who have one grievance or the other and seek to reconcile all of us. We will reach out to numerous key politicians who have left our fold and have indicated interest in returning to the PDP."

The politician stated that Nigeria requires quality leadership because the country presently is falling apart.

Saraki stated that the committee will diligently carryout its task of uniting and strengthening the party before the next general election.

Meanwhile, Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of transport, has backed the calls by the work and housing minister, Babatunde Raji Fashola's for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to honour the zoning formula ahead of 2023.

Speaking on Tuesday, December 1, on Channels TV, Amaechi said the APC is built on the principles of zoning and should be accorded the deserved respect in picking its presidential candidates

When asked if the APC would zone power to the south, the transport minister said he did not have the assurance but the zoning formula must be respected.

In another news, the heated conversations over the rotation of the presidency within the ruling APC took a different dimension this week with the comments of the minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola.

However, his comments seem to have triggered more reaction on the issue, with several APC chieftains giving contrary information on the true situation of things.
