The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Imo state chapter has denied reports that Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and some notable leaders of the party are planning to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Acording to the party, the report is mischievous and a poorly scripted story, attributed toa newspaper as well as other social media news platforms.
The PDP said Ihediola has no reason to contemplate such and that he has no plans to do such as well, Vanguard reports.
The party said:
"We not only declare unequivocally that Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has no plans to leave our dear party, we authoritatively add that he and other leaders of our party in the state have no reason to contemplate such action."
"We wish to assure our teeming members, supporters, Imolites and Nigerians in general that there is no iota of truth that our members are leaving to another party. Only recently, Hon. Pascal Okolie, member of the Imo State House of Assembly representing Orlu State Constituency announced his defection and his followers from the ruling APC to our party and we are expecting more to follow soon."
"Imo PDP under the watch of Engr. Charles C. Ugwuh, OON is intact and there is no crack or leakage anywhere. Power to the people!"
Recall that Legit.ng reported that there are indications that the disagreement between the Ebonyi state governor, David Umahi, and a former Senate president, Anyim Pius Anyim has deteriorated further.
The Ebonyi governor on Tuesday, December 2, sacked the kinsmen of Pius Anyim, from his government because of their political differences.
Kenneth Ugbala, the secretary to the state government who announced the sack, said the governor took the action because the officials had neglected their duties.
Meanwhile, Pius Anyim has alleged that his life is now in danger over his refusal to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
Anyim in an open letter on Monday, November 30, accused Governor David Umahi of plotting to kill him.
He notified the public, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, and the Department of State Services (DSS) over the alleged threat to his life.
