Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has taken to social media to celebrate his grandparents who are celebrating their wedding anniversary.

The Everton of England midfielder posted rare photos of this grandfather as well as his grandmother as he also revealed that the celebration coincides with his grandma’s birthday.

The 24-year-old was born in Lagos Nigeria but had represented England youth teams before he finally ignored an invitation from the Three Lions to represent Nigeria at senior level.

He is a nephew to legendary footballer Jay Jay Okocha and the family has always taken time to update their fans on social media.

Iwobi has been impressive for the Toffees this season and saw 67 minutes action on Saturday, November 28 in their 0-1 home loss to Leeds United in the Premier League.

Carlo Ancelotti's side dominated the first half but had to defend in most parts of the second period to secure the victory. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored a goal right in the first minute before Bobby Reid equalized for the Cottagers.

Iwobi was involved in the build-up as Calvert-Lewin put the Toffees' back in front in the 29th-minute courtesy of an assist from Lucas Digne.

The Nigerian international won some balls and made a few interceptions especially when Fulham were in control of the game in the second half.

He has never been played as a right-back in his career but has played as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.

And Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigeria's Super Eagles have slipped to 35th position on the latest FIFA rankings after the three-time African kings were forced to back-to-back draws by the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone earlier this month.

Their first meeting at the Samuel Ogbemudia ended 4-4 despite Gernot Rohr's taking a four-goal lead in the first 30 minutes of their fixture.

While their second leg in Freetown failed to produce a goal and this came after Nigeria lost 1-0 to Algeria and then another 1-1 draw vs Tunisia.
