Mike Tyson's return to the boxing rings for the first time in one and a half decades ended in a stalemate with former heavyweight champion Roy Jones Jr.

The duo met in an eight-round exhibition fight this weekend and it was a no victor, no vanquish situation at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

Reports from the fight claimed the former two-time heavyweight champion was unlucky not to have been crowned winner in the end.

Tyson, however, told the media as quoted by SunSport at the end of the fight that it was exciting to stage such fight. He said:

"I’m just happy I got this under my belt. I’m continuing to go further and do more. Absolutely [I’ll do this again]."

Meanwhile, the 51-year-old opposition said he will sample people's opinion before considering taking up another fight. Tyson said after the match

"We gotta do this again."

Both fighters could not give their very best as many would have expected and no thanks to their advanced age but Tyson appeared happy with the stalemate. The 54-year-old said:

"I’m good with that. Yeah but I’m good with a draw."

However, Jones Jr had a different opinion about the result at the end of the fight saying he was not satisfied with the outcme.

"Hell no. I’m never satisfied with a draw. The dude is so strong. The body shots definitely took a toll."

Sources revealed that Tyson was gunning for a trilogy with Evander Holyfield he learnt that Jones Jr had accepted to face him in the rings.

With his insistence that he will have more exhibition fights, it will raise hopes that Holyfield Part III could be on the cards.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Mike Tyson and Roy Jr's, much-anticipated exhibition boxing fight ended in a draw according to the judges decisions, Daily Mail.

Tyson tagged Jones with body shots and a handful of head punches during the bout that marked his return to action after 15 years.

The Baddest man on the Planet wore his traditional black trunks while Jones paid tribute to Kobe Bryant as he wore trunks with Lakers' yellow and purple.
