Breaking: Suspected hoodlums storm Rivers, detonate explosives in Wike father’s church

A report by The Nation indicates that an explosion has rocked a church belonging to the father of Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Legit.ng gathered that the hoodlums numbering about five sneaked into the Christian Universal Church International on 25 Azikiwe street Mile, 3 Diobu, on the night of Saturday, November 28, and detonated the explosives suspected to be dynamite.

The report also noted that a significant part of the church was damaged by the explosion, which created panic in the area.

It was said that though no group had claimed responsibility for the dastardly act, two of the miscreants were said to have been apprehended by a vigilante group and handed over the police.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that about 44 rice farmers were killed by men suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists.

It was reported that the farmers met their untimely death while harvesting their crops in Zabarmari, a Borno community known for rice farming.

The report said the farmers were reportedly rounded up and summarily slaughtered by the armed insurgents.

In another report, some unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits kidnapped three people in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The FCT police command revealed that police operatives thwarted the attempted abduction of 19 persons, but three people were unfortunate to have been taken away by the gunmen.
