Manchester City ran riot at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, November 28, following their overwhelming 5-0 thrashing of visitors Burnley in a Premier league clash.

It took just six minutes into the encounter before Pep Guardiola's side opened the scoring when Riyad mahrez found himself free in the box and converted from a Kevin De Bruyne assist.

And it was 2-0 in the 21st minute when Mahrex was gifted possession inside the box as Burnley couldn't cut out a throw-in, and he dunk inside, across the six yard box, and curled into the corner.

Benjamin Mendy made it 3-0 in the 40th minute with a lovely volley at the far post from an angle, giving Kevin De Bruyne another assist. It's been a long wait for Mendy to score for City, but that was a beauty.

Both teams then went into the break with the former Premier League champions leading convincingly in the one-sided affair.

It was 4-0 in the 66th minute after a nice move found Gabriel Jesus in the box. He was under pressure, but showed good awareness to flick the ball to Ferran Torres, who sweept home first time.

Mahrez completed his hat-trick two minutes later for City's fifth goal of the afternoon after Phil Foden was immediately involved, sending a cross to the back post where Riyad Mahrez was running in to power home a header. It ended; Manchester City 5-0 Burnley.

Meanwhile, earlier reported that James Milner was substituted in the second half of the Liverpool vs Brighton game on Saturday afternoon, November 28 in a clash which ended 1-1.

The England midfielder held his hamstring in the 73rd minute of the tie as Reds boss Jurgen Klopp lamented the lunch-time kick off.

The dramatic situation forced the manager to replace the 34-year-old with Curtis Jones as Milner now joins the growing list of injured players at the Anfield outfit.
