Following an extensive appraisal of the security situation across the 19 northern states, the Coalition of Northern Patriots (CNP) on Friday, November 27, said that President Muhammadu and the Nigerian military have successfully quelled the threats posed by criminal elements in the country.

The coalition said this feat is particularly impressive considering the concerted effort by some interest groups to undermine troops' progress.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Alex Samuel, on behalf of the group, said the appraisal was necessary to put things in proper perspective.

Meanwhile, previously reported that the inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu, on Friday, November 27, warned against a second wave of the #EndSARS protest across the country.

Adamu said that the police as an institution will not tolerate #EndSARS protest in the country again, noting that it portends a security risk.

He also said that no protest under any guise will be allowed as the police are prepared to face the protesters squarely.

In other news, Femi Adesina, a special assistant on media and publicity to President Buhari also commended his principal for handling the #EndSARS protest well.

Adesina said President Buhari played a fatherly role in his handling of the protesters and their demands.
