Winners Chapel plans for Shiloh 2020 amid coronavirus outbreak

- Winners Chapel will be having its yearly Shiloh programme on Tuesday, December 8 and it will run till Sunday, December 13

- It is not known if the government has approved the large gathering that will be taking place on those days in the light of coronavirus pandemic

- With the lax in simple measures like wearing face masks, such an assembly of people from different countries could be a thing of concern

The Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel is getting set to hold its yearly international gathering of the faithful called Shiloh.

Themed Turnaround Encounters, the services would be held from Tuesday, December 8 to Sunday, December 13.

Every year, the programme always attracts diverse people from all over the world, especially in foreign countries where the church has branches.

With the reality of COVID-19 and the restriction of international air travels in some countries, it is unclear how members in those places would come to the venue of Shiloh, in Otta, Ogun state.

Also, since transmission of the disease forbids huge gathering, it is not clear if the church has sought the approval of the government for it and the kind of measures that would be in place to protect those on the ground.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that in an Instagram post shared by Bishop David Abioye, the deputy to the church's overseer, Bishop David Oyedepo, the church celebrated establishing 10,000 new branches in one year.

The post also has the words the "wonders of the age" written over a colourful e-poster that has Oyedepo on it in his white signature suit.

The church's theme of the year, Breaking Limits, was placed at the upper left side of the flyer. Many members of the commission took to the comment section to celebrate the new victory.

In other news, Bishop Oyedepo has strongly rejected the application of the Company and Allied Matters Acts (CAMA) in churches.

The law stipulates that religious bodies and charity organisations will be strictly regulated by the registrar-general of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and a supervising minister.
