-Barcelona is now facing growing injury problems at the club
-Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto were injured during their 1-0 loss to Atletico
-Ronald Koeman’s side has also seen Gerard Pique out of action due to injury
Barcelona have suffered a massive blow as Sergi Roberto as well as Ousmane Dembele have both joined defender Gerard Pique on the sidelines.
The Spanish club is facing injury crisis as two more stars now look to join the treatment table after a shoulder sprain by Dembele and a ruptured muscle to the thigh of Roberto.
Both players were in action during the club’s stunning 1-0 loss away at Atletico as Ronald Koeman’s side slip to 11th on the La Liga standings.
They are having a bad season having won just one of their last five matches amid concerns that superstar and captain Lionel Messi could leave before the season ends.
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone earned his first-ever win over Barcelona in La Liga on Saturday, November 21, as his team defeated Lionel Messi-led Barca 1-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
But that wasn't the only record set last night as a news show that Barcelona's 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid means they now have their worst start to a La Liga season since 1991-1992.
Barcelona has only 11 points after eight matches in La Liga and this is their worst start to a league season in close to 30 years.
However, the club can still be optimistic to turn their season around as they did during 1991-1992 where they also had 11 points from eight games.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that amid speculations that Lionel Messi who is already in the final year of his contract with Barcelona is leaving the club, journalists received an epic response from manager Ronald Koeman.
The manager who appeared frustrated when asked about the future of the Argentine legend angrily shuts down the reporters.
And Manchester City are already in negotiations with the player’s agents and hope to lure him to the Etihad in January. When asked whether Messi will leave in January or when his contract expires, Ronald Koeman yelled that he won’t say anything about it.
