Nollywood actor, Williams Uchemba, has received criticisms for not drinking the palm wine given to him by his bride on the day of their traditional marriage.
In the video which is currently making the rounds, the bride is seen kneeling before Uchemba before proceeding to give him the cup of wine.
Contrary to the traditional Igbo marriage rites in which the groom is expected to drink from the wine given to him by his bride, the actor does not drink it but pours part of it to the ground.

This appeared to have upset a Twitter user identified as Victor who expressed in a tweet that the gods of their land do not recognise their union.
Apparently, Victor is not the only one who shares in this sentiment. Several other Twitter users have expressed mixed reactions over the act which some tagged disrespectful.
Oma said it was disrespectful not to drink the wine.
Several Twitter users commented in the tread, sharing their thoughts on the issue.
Pepple is of the opinion that Uchemba's action was wrong and shows he doesn't trust his new family. However, some other Twitter user seemed to justify the act as they questioned who tapped the palm wine.
Apparently, Williams' decision to pour away the wine was for safety purposes as there is an unpopular belief that the wine is sometimes poisoned.
Elda questioned why the bride agreed to go home with the actor.
Despite many people justifying Uchemba's actions, Wokene is of the opinion that rather than break traditional standards, people should rather not engage in them at all.
Recall the Nollywood actor and comedian got married to the love of his life, Brunella Oscar, on Sunday, November 15.
Several videos and photos from the traditional wedding ceremony have since surfaced online and Brunella unarguably made a beautiful bride.
