Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola will renew their rivalry when Tottenham Hotspur welcome Manchester City to the White Hart Lane on Saturday, November 21.

The North London club boss will be hoping to outshine their visitors in a bid to go top of the Premier League table for the first time this season after matchday nine.

However, both managers who aren't new to themselves are already trading war of words ahead of the crucial game for both sides.

Mourinho has raised concerns that City mounted pressure on England boss Gareth Southgate to release Raheem Sterling from international duty early enough.

He did not stop there, he further claimed that Guardiola's men are guilty of diving but the Spaniard did not allow that go, as he also fired back at the Portuguese. He said:

"Mourinho has to go to the doctors for the national team from England and from Manchester City. He has to go to the doctors - except if Mourinho maybe is a doctor. I don't know."
"Listen, I'm not going to answer anything about Jose. I said about the doctor because he accused something we have done which is not true, so he has to speak with doctors about all these other things. Don't ask me because I'm almost 50, so I'm old enough to understand."

Spurs sit second on the table with 17 points from eight games - five points and eight places above City before the match and a win for both managers will be critical to their campaigns.

Meanwhile, Guardiola after signing a new deal with the Etihad Stadium outfit until 2023 was quoted by Goal saying:

"When I arrived here, I didn't expect to be seven years here. "I don't know what's going to happen - it depends on the results, to be honest.
"We have success and we are happy, so why not? If we don't have success, we will be less happy and want a change. It's simple.
"So I'm here and continuing because we have had incredible success, last year won two titles. We won eight in the last three and we want to try to do it so again. No more than this."

Pep Guardiola has endured a shaky start to the season in the Premier League as they sit 10th on the log with 12 points after seven games.

However, they maintain a 100 percent start to the Champions League campaign having won their first three group games so far.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Jose Mourinho has stated that his Tottenham squad that is struggling to win matches in the English Premier League is capable of winning titles in many other European countries.

Spurs found themselves at the top of the Premier League standings on Sunday afternoon, October 8, after Harry Kane’s 88th-minute header sunk hard-fighting West Brom side at the Hawthorns.

The victory gave Spurs all three points and they temporarily leapfrogged Leicester City and Liverpool to the top of the standings.
