Award-winning Nollywood movie director and actor, Kunle Afolayan, is in the news again and this time it is not pretty.

The actor who recently released the highly anticipated movie, Citation, blasted a young man identified on Twitter as @iam_Muideen for his opinion on the movie.

According to the young man who tagged the filmmaker, the movie was great but flopped because the French parts were not subtitled.

He wrote:

"@kunleafolayan Citation Is A Great Film No Doubt, But Non Subtitle Of French Part Is A Great Disservice To The Movie."

Replying @iam_Muideen, the actor flew into a rage and called him a "very stupid idiot". He also noted that the version he watched was not subtitled because it was from an unauthorised streaming platform.

He wrote:

"You are a very stupid idiot. That’s what you get if you keep downloading films from unauthorized streaming platforms. Omo ale."

Nigerians shared varying opinions on the matter. While some thought that the young man deserved it for going for a pirated copy of the movie, others felt that the filmmaker was too hard on him.

Ziyyadah said that the actor's response was realistic because he obviously felt pained.

Ebube said that the filmmaker's reply was uncalled for.

Aminah said people who thought Kunle's reply was rude were one of the problems in the country.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Kunle Afolayan celebrated one of his daughters as she clocked 14.
