Nigerian star Ahmed Musa could be on his way back to the Premier League as Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing the winger.

The 28-year-old is currently without a club after parting ways with Saudi Arabia outfit Al Nassr on mutual consent.

Sources close to the Super Eagles captain can confirm that the Magpies and a few other top European clubs are chasing for his signature.

Apart from Newcastle, West Ham United and Sheffield United are also monitoring the situation of the former Leicester City star, as reported by Chronicle Live quoting Teamtalk.

The publication reports that the St. James' Park club has not shown seriousness for the player just yet but will decide before the January transfer window opens.

Steve Bruce and his crew are already profiling the players they might be adding to their squad in the winter and it is left to be seen if Musa will make the final shortlist.

The winger was not impressive in his country's doubleheader Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone, where they were forced to draws on both occasions.
