The former governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose, has reacted to the defection of Governor David Umahi from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi state, had said he moved to the APC because of injustice the southeast region suffered in the hands of the PDP.
However, Fayose in his reaction claimed Governor Umahi's defection had nothing to do with the interest of the southeast.

The former governor said Umahi's political move reflects the type of leadership Nigeria "parades".
Fayose made this known in a thread of tweets posted on his verified Twitter page on Wednesday evening, November 18.
He tweeted:
"Gov Umahi defected to APC long ago before this unjustifiable move, which clearly has nothing to do with the interest of the Igbo nation."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Governor Nyesom Wike said his Ebonyi state counterpart, Umahi, left the PDP to pursue his presidential ambition.
Wike said Umahi left the party, not because injustice was meted to the southeast but because of his personal presidential bid.
The Rivers leader also disclosed that his defection did not come to the PDP members as a surprise because the Ebonyi governor was already building a political romance with the ruling party over time.
Meanwhile, following the defection of Governor Umahi to the APC, the ruling party is reportedly planning a massive raid on the PDP in an attempt to lure some of its bigwigs in the southeast.
The APC leadership under the caretaker chairmanship of Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has directed the party's members from the southeast to reach out to more governors and National Assembly members in the region.
