Social media users are still in shock after a lady refused to walk down the aisle with the love of her life over what they termed as a flimsy reason.
The woman turned down her partner’s proposal after he assumed she would take his last name after they got married.
The unnamed woman asked Reddit users whether she was a heartless person for taking the drastic decision.

According to the 23-year-old, she and her 36-year-old boyfriend had attended a family gathering back in July 2020.
Her man got on one knee and popped the question. The pair had dated for only four months.

She excitedly accepted and started admiring the ring. That was when the woman noticed something was amiss. According to her confession, her man had engraved her name on the ornament.
Beside her name was her boyfriend’s family name and that set off her alarms. She narrated:
“I handed him back the ring in front of everyone and told him it was beautiful but he had no right to assign me his name. I was not to be his property.”
The lady said she had hoped that her man would have asked for her opinion before making such a decision without consulting her.
