John Ogu has expressed exceptional affection for young boys on the streets of Lagos after he received special hailing due to his status as a Super Eagles’ player.

The midfielder who is currently a free agent having left Saudi Arabian club Al-Adalah in September was not invited for the doubleheader against Sierra Leone.

He is said to be at home in Lagos and in a clip he posted on his Twitter handle, Ogu was seen in his car with boys attempting to sweet-talk him to part away with some money.

In their typical fashion, the boys hailed the 32-year-old with streets slangs like ‘opor’ - translated to mean ‘plenty’.

As Ogu attempted to make a call, one of the boys said: "Number one, God go dey promote you. As you dey bless the street, God go dey bless you,” while others in the background chanted the Lagos slogan ‘ko ni baje’ ‘Opor’.

Sharing the clip on social media, Ogu added the caption:

Is this not even enough to love the Street? I love them so much.”

Recall that Ogu earlier dished out a brilliant response to a critic who accused him of being unpatriotic having earlier called the boycott of the AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Super Eagles of Nigeria have departed Benin and headed straight to Freetown for the second leg of their AFCON 2021 qualifier against Sierra Leone.

The first leg ended in a dramatic fashion after the Leone Stars magically fought back from four goals down to make it 4-4, stunning the Eagles at home.

The second leg of the fixture will hold at the Siaka Stevens Stadium on Tuesday, November 17. A victory for the Eagles will secure qualification for the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
