Lionel Messi has reportedly requested that Manchester City chiefs should assure him that super striker Sergio Aguero and Pep Guardiola would remain at the club for him to join.

The Argentina international played under Pep Guardiola at Barcelona for four seasons before the Spanish coach left the Camp Nou for a move to Bayern Munich.

Pep Guardiola and Lionel Messi won countless titles at the Nou Camp as the Argentine was super brilliant under the Spaniard.

Before the start of the ongoing Spanish La Liga season, Lionel Messi was linked with a move away from the Camp Nou which made his father Jorge to travel to Spain.

Jorge was able to convince his son to stay at Barcelona at least to finish his current contract with the Catalans.

Messi who has won the Ballon d'Or awards six times was linked with Manchester City in the summer, and according to the report on UK Mirror, the Argentine has given two conditions.

The first condition is for Manchester City to make sure that they keep coach Pep Guardiola at the Etihad stadium, while the second is to make sure that Aguero remains in the squad.

Aguero and Lionel Messi have been teammates in the Argentina national team for many years.
