Nigeria vs Sierra Leone: John Keister says his players are ready for Super Eagles

John Keister who is the handler of the Sierra Leone national football team has stated emphatically that his players can beat the Super Eagles in their coming game.

Super Eagles who are three-time African champions have been preparing for their AFCON 2021 qualifier against Sierra Leone which will be played in Benin on Friday, November 13.

John Keister and his wards landed in Nigeria on Wednesday evening, November 11, and they have moved to Benin, Edo state, where they will train on Thursday evening, November 12.

Gernot Rohr and his Super Eagles players are currently topping their group with six points after two games so far in the qualifiers while Sierra Leone are yet to record any win.

Sierra Leone have lost one game and drew the other and they are currently sitting at the bottom of Group L with 1 point.

According to the report on Complete Sports, John Keister explained that he is positive of getting a good result against the Super Eagles.

“I want the nation to be positive about the outcome from the first leg.
“The team’s rebuilding process starts now, and I’ve put together some of the best players to upset the Nigerians.''

Meanwhile, the last time Nigeria lost against Sierra Leone in a competitive football was in 2001 in 2002 World Cup qualifier.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Victor Osimhen who currently plays for Italian giants Napoli has expressed happiness for his return to the Super Eagles squad ahead of their 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.

The 21-year-old was unable to play for the Super Eagles in their last two friendly games against Algeria and Tunisia as the Nigerian Football Federation told him to stay in Italy due to the threat of COVID-19.

Nigeria will be facing Sierra Leone on Friday evening, November 13, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Edo state, and all the players invited are available for the encounter.

Victor Osimhen has been playing for the Super Eagles since 2017 and has so far featured in nine games for the three-time African champions scoring four goals.
