Ron Klain: Biden appoints chief of staff as Trump refuses to concede defeat

The projected winner of the United States' 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden, has appointed 59-year-old Ron Klain as his chief of staff.
Al Jazeera reports that Biden who is yet to be officially certified as the winner is committed to building his administration even as President Trump refuses to accept the election results and concede defeat.
Legit.ng gathers the newly appointed chief of staff, Klain, had earlier served as Biden’s chief of staff when the 77-year-old was vice president under President Barack Obama.

Biden was quoted to have said in a statement:
“His deep, varied experience and capacity to work with people all across the political spectrum is precisely what I need in a White House chief of staff as we confront this moment of crisis and bring our country together again."
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Biden set up a 13-member coronavirus task force to help address the health crisis triggered by the pandemic when he takes over from President Trump.
He vowed to make defeating the pandemic his number one priority when he officially replaces President Trump in January 2021.
Biden also appealed to Americans to continue to wear masks to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, as President Trump continues to reject the result, a large percentage of Americans have moved on by accepting Biden of the Democratic Party as the president-elect following his projected victory by media outlets.
According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, nearly 80% of Americans, including more than half of Republicans, recognise Joe Biden as the winner of the November 3 election.
In the electoral votes, Biden has 279 while Trump has 214 with results in three states not yet complete.
