Ronald Koeman who is in charge of Spanish giants Barcelona has stated emphatically that Lionel Messi is the best player in the world and he has faith in the Argentina international.
Koeman faced serious challenges to keep Lionel Messi at Barcelona before the start of the ongoing Spanish La Liga season.
Lionel Messi wanted to leave the Nou Camp where he has been for a longer part of his football career, but Koeman claimed that he had talks with the Argentine and made him understand that he remains an important player at the club.
The 57-year-old Dutchman also explained that Barcelona will always be a better team with Lionel Messi in the squad.
According to the report on GOAL, Ronald Koeman added that Lionel Messi also had his own problems, but stressed that all have been sorted.
"Messi has shown me to be a person who wants to win things and continue to be the best, even though he has had his problems with the club.
"We spoke at his house and he explained his reasons to me. I was honest. I told him that the only thing is the system, his position on the field, his importance in the team.
"But the problems that he had with the club I couldn't change. From the first day I have said the same thing. He is the best and is committed to the club.''
Meanwhile, Barcelona are currently occupying eight position on the Spanish La Liga table with 11 points after seven games played so far.
