- Simon pulled out of Super Eagles squad for AFCON 2022 qualifier against Sierra Leone this weekend
Moses Simon has been ruled out of Nigeria's 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone this weekend owing to injury concerns.
The 25-year-old lasted about 25 minutes in FC Nantes 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint Germain before the international break.
However, the Super Eagles attacker who is currently recuperating from his setback has now taken time out to be with his wife and daughters.
Although it is unclear when the forward would return to action, he will however spend more time with his family before reuniting with his teammates when club football gets back to action.
Simon has made eight French League appearances for The Canaries with one goal credited to his name in the process.
And he will hope to add to the tally when he is fit again to action for Christian Gourcuff's side this season.
He was part of Gernot Rohr's team that won bronze medal at the AFCON 2019 edition staged in Egypt.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Super Eagles forward Moses Simon may have been ruled out of Nigeria's 2022 Africa Cup of Nations' qualifier against Sierra Leone later this month.
The three-time AFCON kings sit atop of Group L with six points after victories over Lesotho and Benin in their first two fixtures.
They however welcome the Leone Stars to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Friday, November 13 while they travel to Freetown for the second leg four days later.
But it is unlikely that the 25-year-old winger would be a part of the squad after being substituted in their 25th minute of Nantes' 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint Germain this weekend.
