- Nigerian clerics under the National Inter-Faith and Religious Organization for Peace (NIPROF) have condemned the outcome of the #EndSARS protest across Nigeria
- NIPROF said the protest was hijacked by some demonic forces in high places
- The clerics said Nigerian youths must not to allow themselves to be used by some of these forces against the government
Clerics under the aegis of the National Inter-Faith and Religious Organization for Peace (NIPROF) on Tuesday, November 10, urged youths not to allow themselves to be used by promoters of the #EndSARS protest against authorities.
The national coordinator of NIPROF, Bishop Sunday Garuba, said the original intent of the #EndSARS protest seems genuine but was upturned the moment the youths refused all entreaties for dialogue by relevant authorities.
Garba said it is important for youth across the country to know that they are the bedrock of the society and as such must be circumspect in their actions and inactions.
Garba warned that some demonic forces were against the peace and progress of the country and the EndSARS protest provided that opportunity to fulfill their evil desires against the country.
"If not for divine intervention, the level of destruction would have been phenomenal, and Nigeria would have been engulfed in crisis."
Further decrying the spread of fake news in Nigeria especially at the peak of the #EndSARS protest, Garba said youths must realize that disinformation has contributed a great deal in misleading the people.
He also called on Nigerians from all faiths and ethnicity to see that the plan by the agents of the devil for Nigeria does not succeed while advising the government to continue to implement youth-oriented policies that would engage the youths constructively in the task of nation-building.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a civil society organisation had commended the federal government for taking actions against promoters of the #EndSARS movement.
The organisation also urged heads of relevant agencies in the country to resist any form of blackmail or intimidation by fake activists in Nigeria and across the globe.
