- Nicolas Pepe has stated that he wants regular game this season at Arsenal
- The Ivorian explained that not getting active playing time is affecting him
- Pepe joined Arsenal last summer from Lille and has won the English FA Cup
Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe has expressed disappointment over not getting active playing time so far this season under Arsenal coach Arteta in the Premier League.
Nicolas Pepe last summer joined Arsenal from French giants Lille with the hope of helping the Gunners up front, but he has not replicated his best form at the Emirates stadium.
But despite that, Nicolas Pepe was among the Arsenal players who beat Chelsea to win the English FA Cup last term which gave them the ticket to play in the Europa League.
So far this season in the Premier League, Nicolas Pepe has started only one game for Arsenal which was against Manchester City and he is not happy sitting on the bench.
According to the report on Mirror, Nicolas Pepe claimed that he is struggling to find his rhythm at the Emirates stadium.
"My goal is to play more. Have a little more playing time. A player who plays is happy. For me, I would like to play a little more to find a smile again.
''Arteta wants me to be 100 per cent focused during the 90 minutes of the match. Afterwards, I see during training that I will be a substitute the following weekend.
"But the coach speaks to me, he also has assistants who are there for that. But it is frustrating for any player to be on the bench."
Arsenal are currently occupying 11th position on the Premier League table with 12 points after eight games played so far this season.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez stated emphatically that he made a right decision to leave Arsenal for a move to Premier League rivals Aston Villa this season.
Emiliano Martínez joined Arsenal in 2010 and never enjoined active playing time at the Emirates stadium as he spent most of his career with the Gunners playing on loan at other clubs.
Martinez spent 10 years with Arsenal and played only 39 games for the first team in all competitions before he decided to walk away.
Last season was his best at Arsenal as Martinez was given the chance to play 23 games for Arsenal due to the injury Leno sustained.
The Gunners failed to finish among the top four at the end of the term, but they did themselves lots of good by winning the English FA Cup.
