Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez has stated emphatically that he made a right decision to leave Arsenal for a move to Premier League rivals Aston Villa this season.
Emiliano Martínez joined Arsenal in 2010 and never enjoined active playing time at the Emirates stadium as he spent most of his career with the Gunners playing on loan at other clubs.
Martinez spent 10 years with Arsenal and played only 39 games for the first team in all competitions before he decided to walk away.
Last season was his best at Arsenal as Martinez was given the chance to play 23 games for Arsenal due to the injury Leno sustained.
The Gunners failed to finish among the top four at the end of the term, but they did themselves lots of good by winning the English FA Cup.
Since joining Aston Villa, Martinez has been superb for the Premier League side keeping four clean sheets in the English top flight.
He was also in brilliant form over the weekend as Martinez denied Arsenal for his team to record emphatic win at the Emirates stadium.
According to the report on Channel, Martinez explained that joining Aston Villa has helped his game.
"When I decided to come to Villa it was because I trusted the manager's ambitions, the club's ambitions. I knew what a big club Villa is. People don't realize how big it is.
"They were all saying it was a step down in my career but I will always say it was a step up."
Aston Villa are currently occupying sixth position on the Premier League table, while Arsenal occupy 11th position after eight games played.
