- Paul Pogba has started just two matches for Man United so far this season
- The Frenchman has been heavily criticised by all and sundry
- World Cup-winning coach Deschamps says the current set up at Old Trafford will keep the midfielder unhappy
Didier Deschamps claims that Paul Pogba will be unhappy at Manchester United with the way they are set up.
The 2018 World Cup winner has started just two matches for the Red Devils this campaign - a Champions League clash at Istanbul Basaksehir and a league game vs Everton. While keeping a bench-warming role as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer partnered the trio of Scott McTominay and Fred behind Bruno Fernandes in his midfield.
Though the 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, he still has a deal with the Red Devils until the summer of 2022.
And when he was asked about his influential midfielder during a press conference on Monday, November 9, Deschamps said:
"Paul, I know him well and he knows the group well. He is in a situation with his club where he cannot be happy, neither with his playing time, nor with his positioning.
"He is not in his best period, he has had a series of injuries and the Covid-19 which has hit him quite hard. He needs to find his rhythm.
"The match he had to make last month was good and consistent despite a lack of pace. We cannot however say that he is fulfilled in what he does at his club.
England women's team coach Phil Neville is equally not satisfied with Solskjaer benching Pogba, describing it as 'disgraceful'.
Apart from Real Madrid, Juventus are also interested in the Frenchman.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Paul Pogba's dream of playing for Real Madrid is edging closer as Man United is set to drop their asking price to £53million.
The France international has come under huge criticisms in the new campaign and has not been a regular in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting XI.
According to Spanish news media outlet AS quoted FourFourTwo that the Red Devils are now ready to lower their price for the 27-year-old.
Los Blancos have been linked with the Frenchman in recent times and the midfielder whose contract with United ends in 2022 was tipped to join the Spanish club before the pandemic.
