Bear with us, Buhari appeals to Nigerians

- Nigerians have been urged to keep calm and be patient with the Buhari-led government

President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to Nigerians to bear with his administration as he is working tirelessly to make their lives better.

This message was passed across on Friday, November 6, by Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, at a town hall meeting in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, The Nation reports.

In the president’s message delivered by Mohammed, he said this administration has the interest of the youths and the people in general at heart and has been doing a lot to make a positive impact in their lives.

He blamed dwindling resources and the ravaging coronavirus for hindering the government's plans for the masses. He added that they were still trying to recover from the COVID-19 crisis when they were hit by the EndSARS protests.

The president's message read:

“If we have not done enough or we have not touched everybody, we appeal that you please bear with us.
“We all know what we suffered during COVID-19, and as we are just trying to recover from this we also faced another crisis.
“We appeal that you should please assist the government and be patient."

The minister assured Nigerians that President Buhari will keep trying his best as he is committed to serving the people.

Those at the meeting included Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman of Kwara state, speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Danladi; the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Sulu Gambari and other traditional rulers, representatives of market women, traders and other stakeholders.

The minister had earlier praised President Buhari's alleviation programmes as the best in the history of the country.

According to him, the current administration led by Buhari has remained committed to job creation for the teeming youths and also bringing citizens out of poverty.
