The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu while advising his colleagues in the country to spend public money well, said he has not bought any car since he assumed office.
He said the vehicles he is using now were the same ones he had during his campaign, This Day reports.
In his statement, he noted that the chief executive of every state needs to look at how they can cut out wasteful spending as a way to increase their state’s wealth.
“What I have done till date is that I have not purchased any single official vehicle for myself, for any of my personal staff or any of my family members from the government purse. If you see me have a convoy of 10 vehicles, these are all vehicles I was using during my campaigns.”
He added that the money he ought to have used to buy exotic cars has all gone back to the state coffers and used instead to develop Lagos.
