Brendan Rodgers should become Manchester United new manager as Ole Gunnar is relieved of his duties, former Red Devils' star Alan Brazil claims, Goal.

The 61-year-old believes the Leicester City manager deserves to take over at the helm at Old Trafford rather than former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Patience is running out for Solskjaer following his side's current form on the domestic and continental scene.

The former league winners also lost to Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League by 2-1 in midweek.

Several reports have now stated that United are in touch with Pochettino's representative as a possible replacement for Solskjaer.

However, ex-United forward Brazil thinks otherwise and believes Rodgers should be given to manage at the very highest level once again.

Brazil told talkSPORT:

“I’d give Brendan the job at Manchester United.
“If Ole is to go then I would look no further than Rodgers.
“He’s done a brilliant job at Leicester. Yes, he’s had money, but I don’t care, look at the table as well.
“He is top class.”

United will be guests at Goodison Park to face Everton in a Premier League clash and a bad result will further mount pressure on Solskjaer before the international break.
