2020 has most definitely not been American rapper Kanye West's year.
The popular world celebrity earlier announced his presidential bid and went on with it to the ballot, only for him to lose terribly.
Well, no sooner had he healed from his election loss than he was dragged to court by his own employee, yes, his workers. According to Dailymail, the workers are suing the rapper for N3.5 million.
Court papers sighted by The Blast indicated that a hair assistant who worked on the opera was among people who Kanye owed the unpaid wages, continuing wages, damages, civil penalties, statutory penalties, and attorney's fees and costs'.
The workers are said to be seeking at least 3.5 million naira from the rapper, not only for their unpaid work but also for how they were treated.
''Defendants oversaw, controlled and ran the production, and the aggrieved employees worked many hours on the production and were not timely paid for their work, or paid at all.'' the court papers read in part.
Kanye and his team are yet to respond to the issue.
It should be noted the rapper made debut with his opera at the Hollywood Bowl in 2019.
Quite a number of people believed Kanye's bizarre 50-minute show was a money minting venture for the rapper who only appeared on stage for the climatic photocall.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Kanye West claimed Kim Kardashian tried to lock him up in a bizarre rant.
He also had a few words for his mother-in-law and Kardashian momager, Kris Jenner, who he claimed was part of those trying to lock him up.
