- Liverpool have now risen to top five best teams in history
- The Reds won UEFA Champions League two season back and crowned it with the EPL last term
- Their recent successes have now put them ahead of the treble-winning Man United team of 2008
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool of 2020 have fought their way to be among the top 10 teams in the history of the sport.
The Reds, after peaking in February this year pushed themselves to be among the clubs to be reckoned with in world football.
And they currently occupy the fourth position behind the 2012 Barcelona team, 2014 Bayern team and 2014 Real Madrid line-up.
Meanwhile, they are above the 2008 Manchester United and Chelsea outfits - where both Premier League sides reached the final of the Champions League but the Red Devils won on penalties.
According to Sport Bible, the Bayern Munich squad that won all available titles last season made a new entry as they sit seventh on the chart.
Having won the Champions League title two seasons ago, Klopp's men triumphed in the English and won the EPL for the first time in three decades in the 2019-20 campaign.
Meanwhile, the Bavarians did not only won the UCL last term, but they also won the Bundesliga, UEFA Super Cup and a few other domestic silverware in what could be described as an incredible year for the German club.
And the two clubs have continued from where they stopped last season, with Liverpool currently occupying the top spot on the Premier League table, while winning their opening three Champions League fixtures for the first time in their history.
And the Bavarians have a similar experience - sitting at the summit of the log and have equally won their opening three group games so far this term.
Liverpool's impressive win over Atalanta earlier this week will boost their confidence ahead of their league game against Manchester City. However, the manager, Klopp has said:
"Good performances never give me a headache. That was the decision tonight. It made sense to use the shape Diogo was in, and because of the way Atalanta plays and defends.
"But we would not even be in the Champions League if Bobby Firmino wasn't with us, and immediately I have to explain why he's not in the team. He will be in the team.
"For a lot of people in the world, if you asked them what makes Liverpool on Sunday special, they would say the way Bobby Firmino is playing."
Legit.ng earlier reported that Rio Ferdinand has said Liverpool and Bayern Munich are clear favourites to win this season's Champions League title.
Bayern, who are the defending champions in the competition are keen to reclaim the title as they look to establish themselves as a continental football powerhouse.
The Bundesliga giants have kicked-off their campaign on a flying note as they hammered RB Salzburg 6-2 on Tuesday night, November 3, to make it three wins from three.
