- Thirteen LGA chairmen in Oyo state have been placed on indefinite suspension by the House of Assembly

- Chairmen of Akinyele East LCDA, Ido LG; Oluyole LG, and Ibadan North East LG are some of those affected
The Oyo state House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 3, announced the suspension of 13 caretaker chairmen across the local government areas and local council development areas across the state.
According to The Nation, the indefinite suspension was due to “non-compliance to the resolution of the House on submission of status of earthmoving equipment in their respective domains to the House as requested.”
The affected council areas are Akinyele East LCDA, Ido LG; Oluyole LG, Ibadan North East LG, Lagelu West LCDA, Soro LCDA and Ogbomosho Central LCDA.
Others are Ogbomosho South LCDA, Ajorosun LCDA, Ibarapa North West LCDA, Itesiwaju LG, Oyo East LG and Oyo South East LCDA.
In another report, the Oyo state executive council has approved the sum of N9.39 billion to purchase 106 mass transit buses for the state.
This was made known by the state's commissioner for youth and sports, Seun Fakorede, on Wednesday, October 28.
According to Fakorede, the decision to purchase the new buses followed a discovery that there is a limited number of functional mass transit buses.
Meanwhile, amid looting and widespread violence across Nigeria following the nationwide EndSARS protests, criminals on Monday, October 26, struck terror in Oyo state.
A gang of armed men of the underworld on Monday abducted the chairman of Iganna local council development area, Jacob Olayiwola Adeleke, as well as his driver, along the Okeho-Ado Awaye Road in the state.
Adeleke was on his way to Ibadan to attend a crucial meeting when he was attacked by the abductors.
